Our Philosophy

Worship isn’t just the music part of our service. “Worship” is anything that we do to bring pleasure to God.

We worship God privately, in fellowship through small groups, and corporately in our weekly service. During our weekly service we take pleasure in using the elements of music, drama and other forms of the arts to worship God. By using their talents and gifts, the worship arts team provides music, provokes thought, offers prayer, and gives us encouragement and direction in glorifying God. Together in all these efforts, we worship God.

Furthermore, it is our belief that our gifts and talents are God-given and we enjoy offering those gifts back to the Lord in the form of Worship. As members of the Worship Arts Team we want to model authentic, genuine worship that can equip others in drawing closer to God .We want to encourage a life-style of worship, that throughout our day we thank God for who He is loving and displaying this in a way that is contagious.

The environment of BCC is highly artistic, which means we want to encourage all the arts as a gift from God He has given for His and our pleasure.  We have also found using the many forms of the art to be very effective in communicating the truths found in the scriptures.  We use a lot of multimedia,  drama, set designs,  and  props, some of which I would say are daring!

Music

Stylistically we try to be culturally relevant. We want to reach those who know God as well as those who are seeking Him.  Music is like a portal to spiritual things so we use the language of music to reach the heart.

Most would describe our make up as a contemporary band sound.  So drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitar with keys. We use 3-5 vocalists except for a choir around Christmas or Easter.

We try our best to make sure God is the one we are exalting on Sunday. So to follow the greatest commandment to love God and love others as ourselves we see what we do on Sunday as a gift to God and a ministry to who worship with us.

Tech

The tech team deals with anything that requires gadgets or the computer. They help make us look and sound better. We use the software EasyWorship to display our lyrics and video on 2 large screens. We use digital and analog lights for effects and visual clarity on stage.

Drama

This team prepares short dramatic performances to enhance our weekly worship service, Children’s ministries, and/or retreats.

Sometimes it’s a comedy. Sometimes it’s a heart wrenching drama. Always, the goal of drama is to prepare the hearts of the congregation. While entertaining, the dramas are not merely entertainment. Whether we deliver a glimpse of the message or end posing an open question, our aim is to leave the audience eager for God’s direction in their lives.

Do you want to join this exciting ministry? If you are fearless when it comes to performing, we are the place for you! Suffer from stage fright? There are plenty of behind the scenes opportunities, including directors, stage hands, and designers (costumes, props, set).
